Creating the next issue's preview

In order for what is currently the next issue (for which only a preview is shown) to become the current issue (with full articles, etc), you must add a preview for the new next issue.

It sounds confusing, but the process is straightforward.

Go to the Write page, which creates a new, blank article. The settings for the new article should be as follows:

  • Title: The title of the next issue.
  • Body: A summary/teaser for the next issue.
  • Section: “Contents” (each issue has a single article in this section)
  • Date: The key thing here is that this article must be the most recent one published in the “Contents” section. You can select “Reset time to now” before saving to ensure this
  • Category 1: Select the Volume/Number that is correct for the new next issue. If it’s not in the list add the new category
  • issue_date: Enter the quarter and year of the issue, like “Fall 2019”
  • type: Enter “next_toc”
  • Article image: Enter the name of the image you uploaded for the issue. For example 23_1.jpg
  • Last but not least, edit the new current issue’s table of contents article by removing the “next_toc” type from the type field. You can also delete the preview body text.
